Retrector™ Probe
Retractable sharp tip vitrectomy probe (Product no. 71005)

- 23 gauge hypodermic style beveled tip designed for one-step insertion
- Engineered to achieve transconjunctival entry without a cannula system
- Sharp tip can be retracted after entry to reveal a standard, blunt tip vitrectomy cutter, allowing the surgeon to work farther into the periphery

Single-Step Infusion Cannula
(Product no. 60013)
- 26 gauge sharp tip infusion cannula
- Designed for single-step transconjunctival placement
- Cannula design optimizes scleral retention
"In my view, the Retrector (along with the accompanying 26 gauge self-retaining one-step infusion cannula) allows a surgeon the ability to safely tackle media-clearing vitrectomy procedures more easily and effectively than ever -- whether in an OR, ASC, or even now in the office setting. Simple non-clearing vitreous hemorrhages that are not associated with significant vitreoretinal traction, uveitis, dense vitreous opacities (maybe after scleral buckling for example), endophthalmitis, and more. To me, the Retrector offers the advantages of the Intrector's excellent cutting characteristics and reliable small, self-sealing wounds while eliminating the large sharp needle in the vitreous cavity once the entry into the eye is achieved. By having the needle retract fully once inside the eye, the Retrector can be used to cut vitreous fairly far into the periphery without creating the fear of having a sharp-tipped needle cutting vital structures.
I see this as part of the evolution of portable vitreous cutters and of our understanding of how we can marry technologic advancement with safe and efficient clinical practice"
